Robert Zoma Coombs was reunited with his wife Grace M. Coombs in the Grand Heavens above on Aug. 13, 2011.
He courageously served his country in WWII, Okinawa, and the Korean War. He and his wife lived in CA, Cherokee and Aurelia, IA before retiring in Benson and Tucson, AZ.
He will continue to watch over daughter Lynn (Steve) Walton, son Scott (Lori) Coombs, daughter Pam (Charlie) Yeager, grandchildren Shad (Cathy) Smith, Cassidi (Eric) Dupree, Tanya (Chris) Freeman, Beth Coombs, Chris Coombs, Carmen (Joe) Garcia, Alicia (Will) Key, 15 Great-grandchildren. Step-mother Marian Coombs, Sister Gloria Lansford, Brothers Tony (Rhonda) Coombs, Terry (Cathy) Coombs, Tracy (Deb) Coombs, many nieces, nephews, brother-in-law Robert (Kathy) Peck, sisters-in-law Rose Charbonneau,Kathleen Letts, Bernice Henke, Lois Peck, Betty Peck and many relatives and Friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents: Oren, Lois A. Coombs, sister Lois Gross, brothers: Dan and Tim Coombs, many in-laws, relatives and friends.
Services for Robert Z. Coombs will be held on Aug. 26th at 2 p.m. Naval Honor Guard will present the Honors Ceremony at the Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, Ariz. His final resting place will be in the Columbaria: Wall 3 Section H Row 2 Site 1 for visitation.
There will be a celebration of Life to follow in Tucson, AZ at Elks Lodge 615 S. Pantano RD.
