He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving his country in the Pacific theatre. His quiet pride of his country was a cornerstone of his life. Upon his return from the Pacific he met Jean Esther Rosdail, and married on May 14, 1950.
He was a councilman and deacon at Christ the King, and served often as caretaker. A highlight of his work was to play Santa Claus at Christmas time. He enjoyed working fundraisers and helping with afterhours Bible Study.
He taught himself shorthand, and sewing. He spent long hours reading his Bible, studying books, while listening to classical music. He was an avid football fan and gardener.
Everett left many friends in New Mexico, Colorado and Iowa. He befriended people wherever he went, be it the laundry or the restaurant where he had breakfast. He loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean; a son, Kevin; brother, Russell; and two sisters, Ruth and Della.
He is survived by two daughters: Annette (Bruce) of Los Lunas, N.M.; Danielle (Bill) of Lakewood, Colo.; and one son, Erik of Wyoming.
