Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Storm Lake. There was no visitation. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
Charlotte Christine was born Dec. 17, 1956 to Robert and Elisabeth (Marckmann) Crawford. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1975 and continued active in her Christian faith throughout her life. Charlotte attended Sioux Valley Community School in Linn Grove, and graduated high school in 1975.
On June 21, 1975 Charlotte was united in marriage to Maynard Kuhnes at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, in Storm Lake. This union was blessed with two children, Mandi and Mario.
Charlotte worked with her husband in the cleaning business they co-owned. She treasured preaching and teaching the Bible's hope for a better future through God's Kingdom with no more death or wickedness. (Revelation 21:3,4) She also found happiness in learning about this at the Kingdom Hall meetings, assemblies, and conventions. Charlotte loved to spoil her grandchildren, Diego and Isaak, especially with little gifts all year round. One of her favorite hobbies included shopping online through eBay, where she often found coats, clothes, and toys which she often gave her grandchildren. She loved teaching her grandchildren the Bible truths and reading stories from the Bible to them. Charlotte enjoyed cooking and decorating her home. She found pleasure in traveling, hiking and bike riding with Maynard, family, and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Maynard Kuhnes of Storm Lake; children: Mandi (Pedro) Dela Cruz of Storm Lake; and Mario Kuhnes of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; brothers: Robert Crawford of Canby, Ore.; Michael (Eunice) Crawford of Watertown, S.D.; Dennis Crawford of Greenleaf, Ore.; and Roger Crawford of Storm Lake; grandchildren: Diego and Isaak Kuhnes of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elisabeth Crawford.
