Gordon Lipai, age 27, of Storm Lake, died Feb. 13, 2011 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Storm Lake. Burial was in the Storm Lake Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
Gordon K. Lipai was born on April 6, 1983 to Kedsen and Mosihnia Lihpai in Micronesia.
Gordon attended school and graduated from Pohnpei High School on Pohnpei Island and later attended a community college in Micronesia.
In 2006, Gordon was united in marriage to Becky Peter in Micronesia. This union was blessed with two children, Mason and Dina. Gordon moved to the United States in 2007 and settled in Storm Lake in 2008.
Gordon enjoyed spending time fishing, diving, and participating in other water activities especially on the island. He was a dedicated worker in production and also stayed active by playing basketball and video games. Gordon loved to sing and often shared his talents in the choir. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish in his memory include his wife, Becky; children: Mason and Dina; father, Kedsem Lihpai; stepmother, Marieta Albert; brothers: Steven; Rick; and Morgan; sisters: Cellia; Janaleen; and Macy; grandmother, Selle Moses; nieces; nephews; other extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mosihnia Lihpai; brothers: Bruce and Kevin; grandfathers: Gustav Moses; Samson Lihpai; and Enna Lihpai.
