Ruby V. Danielson, age 84, of Storm Lake, and formerly of Albert City, died Oct. 19, 2010 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albert City. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.

Ruby Viola Movall, the daughter of Edward and Justina (Johnson) Movall, was born in Storm Lake, on Dec. 19, 1925. She was baptized into the Christian faith at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Alta and later confirmed there. Ruby grew up on a farm in the Alta area and graduated from the Hayes Consolidated School in Storm Lake with the class of 1943. She continued her education at the St. Luke's Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Sioux City where she received her degree as a registered nurse in 1946.

On Jan. 25, 1948, Ruby was united in marriage to Evert Joseph Danielson and this couple was blessed with three children: Kathryn Ann, Duane Alan, and Elaine Ruby. Ruby worked in various area hospitals, medical clinics, and nursing homes throughout her career, until her retirement in 1982. Ruby and Evert made their home in Albert City until 2000 when they moved to Lake Pointe Villa in Storm Lake. They celebrated 57 years of marriage prior to Evert's death in 2005.

Ruby was a faithful member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albert City and participated in many of the church circles. She was also a member of the Federated Women's Thursday Study Club. Ruby played basketball while in high school and she continued to enjoy watching basketball games and other sporting activities throughout her lifetime. She will be remembered as an avid card player, especially bridge, and enjoyed doing crocheting and embroidery work. Family was very important to Ruby and she cherished the times she spent with her children and grandchildren. Ruby was never happier than when she had her family all together.

Ruby's life and memory will always be honored and cherished by her family which include her children: Kathryn and Douglas Jensen of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Duane Danielson of Urbandale, and Elaine and Jerry Pepping of Moline, Ill., her grandchildren: Deanne and Patrick O'Hollearn, Molly and Alex Stern, Amy and Joe Tessmer, Tom Danielson, Greg Pepping, her sisters-in-law: Harriet Danielson, Wanette Movall, Arlene Movall, and Barbara Movall, one brother-in-law: Donald Heinecke, nieces, nephews, other extended family, and lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Evert on Aug. 31, 2005, her daughter-in-law: Sana Kay Danielson, her sisters and brothers-in-law: Mildred (Alvin) Peterson, Dorothy (Herbert) Anderson, Gladys Heinecke, her brothers and sister-in-law: Frank (Lois) Movall, Clarence Movall, Verner Movall, and Raymond Movall, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Virgil and Jane Danielson, Everette and Vivian Swanson.
