Rebels open with four-game win over E-LC

ESTHERVILLE - The Sioux Central volleball team opened play Thursday night and picked up a four-game road victory over Estherville-Lincoln Central, 25-19, 25-13, 22-25, 25-22.

"What a great win," said SxC head coach Sue Mattson. "We played very well together and had fun. Our feet moved very well for the most part. All who played did a nice job."

Morgan Walker led the way with a stellar season opening effort, going 43-45 in hitting with 19 kills on the night. Chandler Johannsen followed with a 17-21, six kill effort. Hallie Ehlers totaled five kills, Natalie Jensen added four, and Grace Rehnstrom cued the offense with 30 assists.

Defensively, Walker notched 12 digs, Anna Klatt finished with nine and Johannsen totaled seven.

Sioux Central finished with 92% rate at the service line, led by Rehnstrom's 16-16, two ace effort and Johannsen's 23-24, five ace night. Ehelers added a 17-18, two ace effort.

The Rebels return to action Tueaday night, hosting Twin River Valley.
