Raptors comeback falls short against OA-BCIG

IDA GROVE - Playing against Class 2A OA-BCIG in their season opener, the Class 1A Raptors of Ridge View came up just short Friday night, dropping a 26-19 decision.

The Raptors had a chance to level the game, driving late in the fourth quarter, but the drive stalled out, sending Ridge View to 0-1 on the year.

Seth Johnson led the way at quarterback for the Raptors, finishing 14-of-29 through the air for 242 yards and two scores. Johnson added 36 yards and a score on the ground.

Josh Mohr was his top target, hauling in four passes for 90 yards. Greg Davis pulled down four for 68 yards, and Kris Alesch added 65 and a score. Tyler Kenny led the Raptors on the ground with 63 yards on 11 carries.

Defensively, Johnson finished with 11 tackles and an interception, Colby Stephens had 11 tackles, Tyson Thoreson had 10 and a fumble recover, and Davis finished with 10 stops.

Ridge View will look to level their record Friday when they host South O'Brien in Holstein.
