Buena Vista University alums Jacob Flaws and his wife Carly (Evans) Flaws are taking on a challenge to rappel from one of the tallest buildings in Des Moines to raise money for the Special Olympics of Iowa.

In the Over the Edge challenge, they must raise at least $1,000 for the charitable program. If they are successful, they will take the plunge September 22 from 345 feet, atop the Financial Center, one of the tallest buildings in Iowa.

It's a once in a lifetime extreme experience, the couple says, and a cause that is close to their hearts.

"My wife's step-brother has cerebral palsy and participates in the Special Olympics every year. Her cousin also has Down Syndrome and also is a yearly participant," Jacob says. "Know that your donation helps them have an awesome event to attend and make great memories with their friends."
