The Raptors won by scores of 25-22, 25-19 and 26-24.
"It looked like the first night with some uncertainty and nervousness," said RV head coach Scott Mitchell. "Once we settled down and started communicating on the court, things went better. We need to continue to work on our passing. If that improves, we could be a good team. I thought we did a good job of regrouping when our starting setter, Egypt Clayton, hurt her hand in the first game."
On the offensive end, Brooke Wiese and Roxanne Grundmeier led the way with eight and seven kills, respectively. Nicole Snyder turned out 22 assists taking over for Clayton, and Shannon Rohlk notched a pair of aces at the service line. As a team, the Raptors were 67-of-74 serving on the night.
Defensively, Dana Hustedt led the way with 14 digs, while Wiese added 10. Kaitlyn Madsen added two blocks.
The 1-0 Raptors are back at it tonight as they visit Kingsley-Pierson.
