* On Monday, Aug. 23, at approximately 11:25 a.m., the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the Sail Inn Motel in reference to a reported vandalism.
Upon arrival of police they met with motel staff who advised that on Aug. 21, 2010 a Rhema Meninzor, age 21 of Storm Lake, had rented a motel room. She then allegedly hosted a party which left the room with $400 in damage due to food, alcohol and unidentified substances being strewn around the room and ground into the carpets. The damage was to the extent that the carpeting had to be removed from the motel room.
Police conducted an investigation and subsequently responded to 1328 North Erie Street #1 where they located and arrested Meninzor. Police charged Meninzor with Criminal Mischief 4th Degree (serious misdemeanor). She was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond.
Schaller woman arrested for violating no contact order
* On Monday, Aug. 23, at approximately 11:54 a.m., the Storm Lake Police Department took a report of a violation of no contact order at the Tyson Plant on Flindt Drive.
Police spoke with the reporting party who advised that a no contact order was in affect between he and a female identified as Tina Weimer, age 39 of Schaller. He advised police that Weimer had just driven by his work place looking for him and sped off.
Police located Weimer at the Wal-Mart Store in Storm Lake and following an investigation arrested her and charged her with Violation of a No Contact Order. She was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
Accident
* On Aug. 23 at approximately 12:16 p.m., in the 1100th block of Richland in Storm Lake, a vehicle driven by Mayuleen Malarme of Storm Lake, struck a pole causing total damages estimated at $415.
Theft/Vandalism
* On Aug. 24, the theft of a Blackberry Curve cell phone was reported from 329 W. Milwaukee Ave. in Storm Lake. Value was estimated at $100.
* On Aug. 23, vandalism to the building at 317 E. 5th St., Storm Lake was reported. Damage to a window, garage door and wooden statue was estimated at a total of $500.
