Sunday, Sept. 5 dawns with the Jump Right in and Run event, starting at 7:30 a.m. at King's Pointe. Participants can complete a half marathon, half marathon two-persona relay or 5K run-walk, with entertainment to follow in the King's Pointe area.
The Hy-Noon Kiwanis Club will again host its Classic Car Show as a fundraiser for community service programs. The show runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in Chautauqua Park with the awards ceremony at 3. The show includes antiques, classics, hot rods, sports cars, customs, trucks and bikes, and is sponsored by Rasmussen's Ford, Bob's Garage and Auto Sales and Fitzpatrick Auto.
Santa's Castle will be hosting a fundraiser turkey fillet meal in the park. There will be plenty more to see and do from 1-4 p.m. in Chautauqua Park, with arts and crafts vendors, Kenpo Karate exhibitions featuring nationally-known champion competitor and video series star Lauren Kearney, inflatable playgrounds for children, Blue Bunny Ice Cream, pony rides and carnival games.
Eighteen-year-old singer-songwriter Brad Morgan, from Manning, will offer a free concert from noon- 2 p.m. Morgan's repertoire includes folk, country, classic and modern rock, and he earned a local reputation with a well-received concert at King's Pointe for RAGBRAI earlier this summer.
