Kenneth A. Bue, 88, of Sioux City, passed away, Sunday, July 4, 2010 at a local hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matthew Miller officiating. A Visitation for Ken will be Wednesday, July 7, from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ken was born March 18, 1922 in Sioux City to Alfred and Christine (Overby) Bue. He attended East High and served in the Army Air Force during WWII as an Airplane Mechanic, Private First Class. Ken married Elaine Bruckner on July 10, 1948 in Sioux City.

Ken was a Stationary Engineer and worked for Caterpillar, Warrior Hotel, and Bishop Homes, he retired from Area 12 in 1984. He was a member of the American Legion (Sergeant Bluff), and the Boys of 68. Ken was a family man; he loved to have his family around him. He enjoyed gardening, remodeling and carpentry, anything using his hands.

Ken is survived by his wife Elaine of Sioux City, son Ron and his wife Terry of Storm Lake, Iowa, two daughters Linda Lidgett and her husband Virgil of Chatsworth, Iowa, and Nancy Bates and her husband Robert of Bronson, Iowa, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Jacki Bue of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers James and Vernon, two sisters Helen and Edna, and a grandson Daniel Bates.
