Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Methodist Church in Newell. Burial was in the Newell Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell is in charge of the arrangements.
Glen Paeper, son of William and Laura Hazel (Hunter) Paeper was born on Aug. 1, 1921 in Newell. He was baptized at the Methodist Church in Newell, in 1947. Growing up, Glen attended school in Newell where he received his education.
Glen served his country and enrolled in the United States Marine Corps on Aug. 17, 1942 where he served in the Pacific during World War II. He was honorably discharged in Oct. 29, 1945.
On Sept. 1, 1945 Glen was united in marriage to LaVonne "Bonnie" Lewis in Sioux City. Together they were blessed with one child, Kurt Paeper.
Glen was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Throughout his life, he enjoyed driving truck. Along with trucking, Glen found great interest with motorcycles, Cushman's, and old trucks and tractors. Glen treasured the time he was able to spend with his friends and family. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Kurt (Rosemary) Paeper of Humboldt; his sister, Inez (Eggert) Thomsen of Newell; his grandchildren: Jill (Dennis) Harson of Emmetsburg; Jason (Matilda) Paeper of Carrolton, Kent.; and Jeff Paeper of Pipestone, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Trevor and Tylor Harson; extended family and many friends.
Glen was preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne (Bonnie) Lewis Paeper; and his brother, Dean of Livermore.
