Samantha Obman discovered her passion while taking part in art classes at the Storm Lake High School.

She plans to further her education at Western Washington University and pursue a career in photography. Shooting photography for a travel magazine or National Geographic is her dream.

She is one of the 350 students at SLHS to take part in the 14 different art classes made available at the school. Students have been successful through the years, earning great recognition on local, state and national levels.

Samantha was one of 13 SLHS art students whose art work was recently accepted into the 2010 Youth Art Month Show. The artwork will be exhibited in the 2010 Youth Art Month Show and will take its place in the Historical Building of Iowa in Des Moines with over 100 other pieces of student work from all over the state. As a special honor, Samantha received recognition for her photograph, which has been chosen to be on display in the Governor's Office.
