Storm Lake High School music directors Jeff Tollefson, Carol Peterson and Jason Herren have been preparing their students for a trip to Disney World where they will perform, compete and represent the school and community. The 123 students, directors and a host of chaperones leave March 15 and will return March 21.

SLHS student artist Amanda Ballou designed t-shirts with the three directors' mugs that will be worn by students on their music trip to Disney World next week. [Left].

The group will travel in four chartered buses for 28 hours! Instruments and performance clothes will be shipped ahead of time in an 18-wheel truck. Choir director Tollefeson will be foregoing the long trip and will fly down ahead of the group and meet them when they arrive.

It is a great honor to be selected to participate in the highly acclaimed Festival Disney and Disney Magic Music Days. Video performances were sent in early last year by several bands, orchestras and choirs from across the nation. It is an all or nothing deal, the SL directors said. If one of the groups was not selected to take part, no one would go.
