Monday, March 8, 2010
Buena Vista Regional Medical Center generates 580 jobs that add $23 million to Buena Vista County's economy, according to the latest study by the Iowa Hospital Association. In addition, BVRMC employees by themselves spend $6.6 million on retail sales and contribute $395,000 in state sales tax revenue.

"One important factor regarding economic security in Buena Vista County is directly tied to the quality and success of major employers such as Buena Vista Regional Medical Center," said Mike Dewerff, BVRMC CFO. "BVRMC appreciates the opportunity to join other major employers in creating a strong financial foundation for Buena Vista County. We understand and appreciate the potential financial impact our 400 employees have in the County and we strive through on-going fiscal responsibility to serve those employees and the people in our region."
