Witter a cultural gem

We are writing to say that the Witter Gallery's Chocolate & Chainsaws event last Friday made for an extraordinary evening. The Gallery was packed with visitors, the chainsaw sculptures, by local artisan Jeff Klatt, were intriguing, the chocolate was oh so scrumptious and the music of Laura Bernhardt and Josh Weitzel was terrific.

Hats off to the Witter Board, Director Ron Stevenson, and all the volunteers who made the event such a success! It is so exciting that such events are available locally, without having to drive to Des Moines or Omaha to find an evening of culture and fun. If you were unable to attend, be sure to watch for upcoming opportunities at the Gallery. For example, you may want to attend the reception for March's exhibiting artist, Mary Ortner, from 1-4 pm on Saturday, March 6. Or, simply stop in whenever you're near the Library and enjoy the Gallery's monthly exhibit. The Witter Gallery is one of the important resources that makes Storm Lake a special community in which to live...we're glad it's here.
