SL Walmart remodeling project underway

Thursday, March 4, 2010
Storm Lake's Walmart recently began an extensive renovation. The store will receive a full remodel from the inside out and will represent the latest in Walmart's store design and customer experience.

The new design is based on feedback from customers and will feature a clean, open and bright new look in the store with wider aisles, low-profile shelving, bright interior paint scheme, and lighting and easy-to-read signage to help customers find the products they need.

"We are excited to bring an improved shopping experience to our customers," said store manager Mike Brungardt. "We listened to our customers and are redesigning the store to make shopping at Walmart even easier," he added.

The remodel is a joke. You cannot find anything that you need and heaven forbid you ask one of the 50 employees that are blankly wandering around trying to look busy because they haven't got the slightest clue either. I was there for 2 hours today and didn't come home with half of the stuff I needed. I got tired of wandering around. On top of that, if you did happen to find what it was that you were looking for, they were sold out or only had 1 or 2 of the item left. The whole thing is a joke. They need to be more organized with this and their employees need to be more informed. And on top of that, the checkers have no clue how to use the new cash registers. I had 6 employees at my register today just to refill a gift card. What a joke.
