Beavers fall to Dutch in Tournament Championship Game

PELLA - The Buena Vista men's basketball team was playing in its 10th championship game in the 12-year history of the tournament, but it was Central College opening up a quick double-digit lead and shooting 53 percent from the field, en route to a 99-79 victory over the Beavers on Saturday night.

The Dutch went up 10-0 less than three minutes into the contest before upping the lead to 16 three minutes later. BVU tried to stay close, getting back as close as 28-18 midway through, but an 8-0 run put the Dutch up 18 and they would take a 23-point margin into halftime.
