The Buena Vista County Community Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation that seeks to enhance the quality of life in Buena Vista County by awarding cash grants to other not-for-profit agencies and units of government within the county.
In the past four years, the foundation has been instrumental in developing partnerships with local governments and not-for-profit agencies in BV County. Granting over $246,000 to 72 local groups in those four years.
New for the 2010 Spring round, the Buena Vista Community Foundation will award grants in three separate classes. Small grants, which are for $2,000 or less and require no cash match. Our regular grant of $5,000 or less that requires a 50% cash and/or labor match.
A large grant of $25,000 or less that requires an equal cash match.
Grant applications for this Spring Grant Program are due by March 26, 2010.

To promote understanding of the grant application process there will be a training and informational meeting on March 9th at 5:30PM at the Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors Board Room in Storm Lake.
Funding for the Buena Vista County Community Foundation is provided through funding from the State of Iowa and through private donations.
Persons interested in leaving a lasting legacy within Buena Vista County by establishing a grant program or endowment can collaborate with the Buena Vista County Foundation to achieve these goals. In these partnerships, the BV County Community Foundation can assist the donor in handling the administration of grant and endowment funds to fit with the donors set of guidelines and objectives.
