Terms
The two schools have agreed to share football for the 2010-11 school year. Despite many discussions about additional sports sharing for next school year, no other contracts have been signed.
The term of the contract is for one year, commencing July 1, 2010 and ending June 30, 2011. The contract may be terminated upon mutual agreement of the parties anytime.
After the expiration of the initial term of the contract, it is the intention of the parties that this contract shall continue in conjunction with the whole grade sharing contract entered into between the two parties.
Financial arrangements
All costs shall be shared 50 percent by Alta and 50 percent by Aurelia. Administrators shall prepare calculations of expenses to be cost-shared.
Transportation and financial arrangements
Alta will be responsible for transporting its students in grades seven through eight to and from Aurelia for practices and games and Aurelia will be responsible for transporting participants in grades 9-12 to and from Alta for practices and games. Transportation of the team and coaches to and from away high school games will be provided by Alta with 50 percent of the cost being reimbursed by Aurelia.
Aurelia will provide transportation to and from all away junior high games with Alta reimbursing 50 percent of those costs.
Alta will serve as the host for all grades 9-12 football practices, junior varsity and freshmen games. Aurelia will host two varsity games each year with Alta hosting the balance of home games. the team will be called Alta-Aurelia.
Host sites
Aurelia will serve as the host for all grades 7-8 football activities. The junior high team will be called Aurelia-Alta.
Incorporation of the new team colors shall be implemented by the administration of the respective parties as the opportunities arise and upon agreement of both schools.
Staffing
Each school will be responsible for providing two high school football coaches and each will provide one junior high football coach. If a third junior coach is needed, Aurelia will provide that coach and if a fourth is needed, Alta will provide that person.
the number of football coaches needed at both the high school and junior high levels will be evaluated and agreed upon by the administration of both schools and approved by both boards.
Equipment
Existing football equipment of each school may be utilized in either district, as determined by the coaches and administration and based upon the greatest and most appropriate need for the equipment.
Resolution of disputes
In the event that the schools are unable to agree to this agreement, disputes will be submitted to arbitration and will be decided by an arbitration committee, consisting of one member appointed by each district and one non-partisan member.
The boards have discussed and will continuing discussing the possibility of sharing additional sports programs for next school year
