Merle D. Humphrey Aug. 2, 1928 - Jan. 11, 2010

Merle D. Humphrey, of Goldfield, entered into eternal rest Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 at Wright Medical Center in Clarion.

Merle was born Aug. 2, 1928, in Algona, to his parents, Carl and Iva (Howe) Humphrey. He was educated in Algona and enlisted in the U.S. Army thereafter. He was a Commercial/ Private Pilot, Aviation Mechanic, and Aviation Instructor Pilot. He owned/managed airports in Storm Lake, Webster City, and Shenandoah.

His family will be hosting a "Celebration of Life Memorial" as Merle requested on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, to be held at the enclosed shelter house at Lake Cornelia near Clarion from 1-4 p.m.
