James Matthew Seivert was born on Nov. 29, 1927, at Ashton, IA, the son of Louis C. and Elizabeth (Johannes) Seivert. He graduated from St. Joseph School in Ashton in 1945. He began working at the Ritter elevator, before becoming manager of the Co-Op elevator in Knierim. Covering a span of 40 years, he was manager of Co-Operative elevators in Clare, Alta, and Klemme, retiring in 1992. He remained active with the Iowa Institute of Cooperatives. On August 22, 1950, he married Marian Janssen at Sibley, IA. She preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1985. He was united in marriage with Peggy Kindwall on July 3, 1987. They made their retirement home in Manson, enjoying golfing, traveling and visits with Grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Peggy; children Janice (John) Yetmar of Coon Rapids, MN; Jean (John) Nardozzi of Naperville, IL: Jeffery (Kimm) Seivert of Mason City, IA; John (Mary) Seivert of West Allis, WI; Judith (David) Shaver of Frisco, TX; Jolene (David) Hidalgo of San Antonio, TX; Betty (Robert) Hinde of Alta, IA; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother Walter (Carol) Seivert of Ashton, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marian; daughter Joyce in 1968; sister Inez; brothers Richard and Robert.
