Chili/soup cook off, Toys for Tots events being planned at Alta's Midwest Motorcycle Apparel

Gary and Debbie Emery of Midwest Motorcycle Apparel, located at 115 Main Street, Alta, are all geared up for the holidays.

Dec. 19 they will host a chili/soup cook off with prizes being awarded for first, second and third places.

Going along with this event, they are holding a toy drive for toys for Tots. Anyone wishing to enter the chili/soup cook off will pay an entry fee of $5 and bring a new toy for the specially-made toy box located in the store.

Please RSVP by Dec. 5.

Chili/soup may be brought in at 5 p.m. on Dec. 19 with judging to take place at 6 p.m. A crock pot or roaster full of soup is asked for. After the competition, the entries will be sold for $1 per bowl for anyone wishing to come into the store. Join in the fun, show off your cooking skills, enjoy tasting the other entries and help bring smiles to the children this Christmas.

All of the donated toys will be distributed among area children.
