Church of Christ recently took part in a harvest celebration while at the same time helped families in Alta who use the Lord's Cupboard. Members of the church volunteered to grow pumpkins - unique ones at that (including Galeux d'Eysines - orange warty pumpkin, Jarrahdale - blue grey pumpkin) so as not to be in competition with the Maple Valley Ag pumpkin patch. The pumpkins were harvested and brought to church. Persons who stopped by with food donations for Lord's Cupboard had the opportunity to select a pumpkin and also put their names in a drawing for one of four extra large pumpkins. About 200 pumpkins were grown. Cookies and hot chocolate were also offered.
