Thomas Vernon Steward, age 25, of Storm Lake, died on July 21, 2009 in Storm Lake.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Burial was in the Storm Lake Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
Thomas Vernon Steward was born on June 21, 1984 in Storm Lake, the son of Thomas Chris and Nancy (Dunham) Steward. In 1984, Thomas was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake where he was later confirmed in 1999.
Thomas attended grade school at East Elementary in Storm Lake and graduated in 2003 from Storm Lake High School. In 2005, he graduated from Western Iowa Tech earning his Associates Degree. Thomas continued his education at Iowa State University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in 2008.
Thomas had a passion for sports. He enjoyed being involved in track and football and treasured the time he was able to spend with his teammates. He loved fishing, playing video games and studying History and Geography. Thomas was looking forward to hunting season this fall.
Those who will always cherish his memory include his parents, Thomas Chris and Nancy (Dunham) Steward of Storm Lake; his brothers, Jim Steward of Nemaha, and David Steward of Storm Lake; his grandmother, Arleen Steward; his uncle, Vernon Dunham; many other aunts, uncles, cousins; and many friends.
Thomas was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vernon and Berneta Dunham; and his paternal grandfather, F. Wayne Steward.
