The fifth annual Ken Hinde Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Lake Creek Country Club in Storm Lake Friday.
The tournament, which will be a four-person best shot with a shotgun start at noon, will be held in memory of Ken Hinde, a resident of Methodist Manor Retirement Community for many years who passed away in 1998.
Response to the memorial tournament is on par with last year's enthusiastic turnout. Organizer Sandy Knoke said she was excited about the upcoming event, which will be able to directly help both employees and residents of the Methodist Manor center.
"It's a good benefit because the proceeds from this will help our employees further their education, which will in turn help our residents," Knoke said. "It's a great event to have."
Hinde was an avid golfer, and continued his love of the links even after moving into the residential facility.
Reservations will be taken up to the start time at noon on Friday, Aug. 15, $40 per person.
