The Dollhouse and toy show continue to amuse both young and old at the Albert City Threshermen & Collectors Show, where this year's event is planned for August 8-10.
The children's buildings host displays of dolls and toys of the past, as well as increasing numbers of newer toys. Both the Dollhouse and toy show are located at the east site, and run throughout the duration of the show.
The Dollhouse is maintained by the Keepsake Doll Club and houses a display of old and new dolls. Many are handmade, ranging in material from needle sculptured, porcelain, rag, wooden, corn cob and corn husk.
The toy show draws both exhibitors and displays alike, with a contest awarding trophies to the best models.
Nearing the end of every day, there is an enormous parade that celebrates the activities of the day. On Friday and Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m., a barrage of cars, trucks, tractors and many other entries will entertain guests at the Threshermen Show.
There will be a variety of food available for the hungry farmer in everyone. Check out the variety of food stands. Home-cooked food is available from breakfast to dessert, but don't forget the kettle corn and homemade ice cream.
Children's games will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting at 1 p.m. There will also be a petting zoo for the kids in the Barn every day.
