Storm Lake area students can become Beaver Buddies! For the fourth year, area students are invited to join the BVU football team for Storm Lake Area Student Day.
On Saturday, Oct. 21, students are welcomed as guests at the football game against the University of Dubuque at 1:30 p.m. in J. Leslie Rollins Stadium. Area students in kindergarten through eighth grade will receive free admission with an adult's paid admission.
The event also features a special public service program sponsored by the American Football Coaches Association. Child identification kits will be distributed to provide parents or guardians with fingerprints and identification for each child. This information is retained by the parent or guardian and can be used in a time of crisis. The fingerprinting kit and information packet will be provided free of charge.
The identification card and kit contains an inkless process for fingerprinting and has spaces for a picture of the child's identity marks and doctor's phone numbers. The kit can be completed and kept at home to be provided to law enforcement authorities only in case of emergency.
No advance registration is required for Storm Lake Area Student Day. Tickets are available at the gate on the day of the game. For additional information, contact Steve Osterberger, head BVU football coach at 712-749-2259.
