Future plans and goals of the Alta Chamber of Commerce were discussed among chamber members Tuesday night.
Chamber member Joe Aube discussed ways the chamber could go about finding out what they want to be and what they hope to develop.
Aube suggested having members of the community and businesses fill out a survey in order to find out what everyone wants from the chamber organization.
"I think we need to decide what our goals are and to decide what we want to offer," Aube said.
Those present were concerned about the goals of the chamber and want to pursue ways in which to strengthen the organization.
West Links owner Donna Koth mentioned splitting the chamber up into directions in order to fulfill both the civic and the business needs of the community.
"Members from some of the biggest businesses in town don't even show up for the chamber meetings," Donna Koth said. "What better way to branch out than to get everyone involved."
Aube suggested working more with the city and the school in order to better serve the community and in order to become more involved.
A town meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 25. Members of the chamber believe this meeting will be a step forward as far as members of the different community organizations understanding the roles of one another go.
