A low maintenance, energy-efficient spec home overlooking West Links golf course in Alta is in its final stages.
The hole for the new spec home was dug in mid-April by employees of United Building Centers (UBC). UBC manager Jeff Olson is hoping to have the home complete by the end of this month.
"We've got all the sheet rock in and the house is all insulated," Olson said. "The brick will be going in this week and hopefully by next week we'll be able to trim it out. The final grading has been done."
The home, which has sparked a lot of interest already, measures 1600 square feet. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a full basement with ceilings that measure nine feet high. The basement features space for two bedrooms and a family room if so desired. The home also has an attached two-car garage.
"We're going to finish everything except for putting the carpet in because I feel it's something most people like to decide themselves," Olson said. "We'll also leave the basement unfinished because it's hard to tell whether a family will want a rec room and two bedrooms or just what they'd like to do with it."
