Funeral services for Marjorie Hart, 84, of Storm Lake, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the United Methodist Church in Alta with Pastor David Arulnathan officiating.
Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Storm Lake. Barker Funeral Home of Alta was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hart passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at the Buena Vista County Hospital in Storm Lake.
Marjorie Janet, the daughter of Alexander and Anna Marie (Nelson) Holmes, was born Mary 14, 1916 in Alta. She was baptized into the Methodist faith.
She attended school in Alta and later beauty school in Sioux City. In 1942 she was united to Buford T. Hart in South Carolina.
Mrs. Hart was a beautician for over 50 years. She first owned and operated her own beauty shop in Sioux City until 1954 and then moved to Denver, Colo., where she opened a new shop.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 11, 1988; one sister Geneva Nancarrow; one brother Lyman Holmes and a great-nephew Mike Enger.
Mrs. Hart is survived by three brothers and their wives: Dyle and Margaret Holmes of Enumclau, Wash., Robert and Helen Holmes of Storm Lake and William and Donna Holmes of Alta; five nephews: Wes and Linda Holmes of Alta, Jim and Susan Holmes of Storm Lake, Mike and Val Holmes of Brandon, S.D., David Holmes of Storm Lake and Jim and Joyce Nancarrow of Portland, Ore.; two nieces: Marilyn and Jack Boerc of Seattle, Wash. and Phyllis and John Enger of Portland, Ore.
