"Anne of Green Gables," is based on the book by L.M. Montgomery. The dramatized version has been adapted by Joseph Robinette and published by Dramatic Publishing. The play follows the story of a young orphan girl, Anne Shirley. Anne is adopted by Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, a brother and sister who still live on the farm on which they grew up, Green Gables. By a twist of fate, Anne is sent to the Cuthberts, even though they want to adopt a boy to help with the farm. After much discussion, Matthew and Marilla agree to keep Anne. Exuberant, imaginative, bright and charming, Anne changes the lives of her guardians, friends and neighbors.

Everyone is invited to join the Aurelia High School Drama department for this warm, touching and funny adaptation of the much loved story, "Anne of Green Gables."
