ICCC offering 'Spanish for health care professionals' class

Iowa Central Community College will be offering a course entitled "Spanish for health care professionals I" each Tuesday, from Oct. 10 through Nov. 28.

The course, for health care providers, is designed to teach health care professionals to communicate with Spanish-speaking people while providing the student with information about the Hispanic culture.

Classes will be held in room 330 of the vocational-technical building at Iowa Central Community College from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for eight consecutive Tuesdays. The class instructor will be Patty Croonquist.

The course is worth 1.6 Iowa Board of Nursing CEU's and can be taken for one hour of college credit or as a non-credit class.

By the end of the eight weeks, students should be able to understand and speak basic essential phrases in Spanish and understand culture-based situations.
