Ladies Auxiliary aids Veterans and others in Alta community

The Ladies Auxiliary VFW Alta Post 6172 has spent time helping Veterans and their families for over 60 years. Along with helping the Veterans and their families, the Ladies Auxiliary volunteer their time to many community projects.

"Our function is to aid and assist any Veterans of Foreign Wars who need help or whose families need help," Ladies Auxiliary president Marie Michelson said. "We also help with many other things in the community and donate to many charities."

This Saturday, the Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Alta Community Building. Proceeds will be given to the Alta-Aurelia D.A.R.E. Program.

"The D.A.R.E. students will be helping and are excited about it," Michelson said.

The Ladies Auxiliary enjoy helping out, whether it deals with raising money for community activities or for Veterans and their families.

The Ladies Auxiliary is composed of 102 members, who dedicate their time to numerous activities.
