AURELIA - On a night with gusting winds, you'd think field position would play a major role in the game. It did.
Sioux Central capitalized on great field position to score two first-half touchdowns as it went on to hand Aurelia a 30-6 defeat.
The Rebels started its first scoring drive on the Aurelia 27 and capped it with a 23-yard pass from Cody Tibbetts to Jeff Madsen to tie the game at 6-6.
Aurelia had taken a 6-0 lead on a Heath Brecher 10-yard run after starting on the Sioux Central 32-yard line.
The Rebels jumped in front 14-6 just before halftime when Nate Wittmaack caught a 10-yard pass from Tibbetts. Madsen caught the two-point conversion for a 14-6 lead. That drive began on the Aurelia 37.
Sioux Central tacked on two touchdowns in the second half on a Madsen 12-yard run and a 36-yard pass from Tibbetts to Madsen. Tyler Lindquist rushed for 154 yards on 23 carries.
Brecher rushed for 82 yards to lead Aurelia. He also had 18 tackles. Reilly had 12.
