On Sept. 11 at 4 p.m., an accident occurred in the parking lot west of First Federal in the 1400 block of North Lake Avenue. A 1997 Dodge, driven by Jamie Roesler, 23, 914 East Milwaukee Avenue, #9, Storm Lake, was southbound in the parking lot. A 1989 Chevy, driven by Wendell Kragel, 66, Newell, was backing from a parking stall and the vehicles collided. Damage was estimated at $950 to the Roesler vehicle and none to the Kragel vehicle.
On Sept. 22, at 2:15 p.m., an accident occurred in the 200 block of East Railroad Street. A 1996 Ford, owned by Tara Paulsen, 523 Russell Street, Storm Lake, was parked on East Railroad Street. A 1990 Buick, driven by Emmett Hammen, 74, Lakeside, while attempting to park, backed up, striking the Paulsen vehicle. Damage was estimated at $300 to the Paulsen vehicle and none to the Hammen vehicle.
On Sept. 25 at 12:10 p.m., an accident occurred at the intersection of College Avenue and West 5th Street. A non-contact vehicle was stopped eastbound on West 5th Street to turn on College Avenue. A 1995 Chevy, driven by Daniel Keeley, 22, Mt. Pleasant, was stopped behind the non-contact vehicle. A 1973 Chevy, driven by Kirk Johnson, 27, 519 Oneida Street, Storm Lake, traveling behind the Keeley vehicle, failed to stop in time and struck the Keeley vehicle. Damages were estimated at $700 to the Keeley vehicle and none to the Johnson vehicle.
On Sept. 28 at 8:15 p.m., an accident occurred in the 1500 block of West 6th Street. A 2000 Chrysler, owned by Fred Dehaan, 3100 Leona Drive, Storm Lake, was parked on West 6th Street. A 1988 Jeep, driven by Daniel Buckingham, 16, 701 Colonial Circle, Storm Lake, while backing from a private drive, struck the Dehaan vehicle. Damages were estimated at $1,100 to the Dehaan vehicle and $50 to the Buckingham vehicle.
On Sept. 29, an accident occurred in the 300 block of Ontario Street. A 2001 Dodge, owned by Enterprise Rent A Car, Davenport, was parked on Ontario Street. A 1989 Ford pickup, driven by Lee Thorson, 54, Rolfe, while backing from a private drive, struck the Enterprise Rent A Car vehicle. Damage was estimated at $1,200 to the Enterprise Rent A Car and $50 to the Thorson vehicle.
On Sept. 9, Donald Carl, 1322 Shoreway Road, Storm Lake, reported the theft of a water pump, a tool box, assorted tools, a punch bowl set and a coffee maker from his residence. Value of the stolen items was estimated at $525.
On Sept. 24, Dee Gosch, 27 Peterson Drive, Storm Lake, reported the theft of a dog chain from her front yard. Value of the dog chain was estimated at $20.
On Sept. 27, Bob Williams of the City of Storm Lake Parks Department reported damage to a park bench located in the city parking lot in the 500 block of Erie Street. Damage to the park bench was estimated at $100.
