DENISON - Tim Brink finished fifth overall out of 94 runners with a season best time of 17 minutes, 17 seconds to help Storm Lake place fifth in the Denison-Schleswig Invitational Tuesday.
Denison-Schleswig won the team title with 61 points. Storm Lake scored 139 in the 13-team meet. Galva-Holstein placed ninth with 266 points and Schaller-Crestland was 13th with 391.
Brandon Ebersole finished 20th for the Tornadoes with a career best time of 18:13. Mike Solem was 31st in a career best 18:46, while Chuck Stark was 33rd in a season best 19:01. Jeff Langner placed 50th in a career best 19:46, Brady North was 56th in a season best 20:16 and Adam Sievers was 57th in a time of 20:18.
Carlos Franco placed 15th in the junior varsity race with a time of 21:02. Seth Hanson finished 31st in 23:20.
Denison-Schleswig won the girls team title with 49 points. Galva-Holstein was second with 62.
Angie Pearson paced Storm Lake, finishing 24th with a time of 14:15. Steph Stanley was 48th in 15:00, Amy Wulfekuhler 60th in a season best 15:32 and Christina Brink was 71st in 15:54.
"This was a great meet for these guys and another confidence builder," Storm Lake coach John Brostad said. "They have been improving each meet and are continuing to work hard in practice."
