CARROLL - Tim Brink finished second overall out of 35 runners to lead Storm Lake to a third-place finish at the Carroll Invitational on Saturday.
Carroll Kuemper won the meet with 31 points. Storm Lake scored 65 points. LM-ACT was second with 61 points.
Brink posted a time of 17 minutes, 39 seconds. Brandon Ebersole placed 11th with a time of 19:41. Chuck Stark finished 15th in 19:59, Mike Solem 16th in 19:59, Brady North 21st in 20:30, Jeff Langner 23rd in 20:31 and Adam Sievers was 25th in a time of 20:37.
Carlos Franco placed 15th in the junior varsity race with a time of 22:08. Seth Hansen finished 21st in 22:42.
Angie Pearson paced the Storm Lake girls by finishing 11th with a time of 14:39. Steph Stanley was 12th in 14:47, Amy Wulfekuhler 20th in 16:16 and Christina Brink 22nd in 16:33.
Ashley Solem placed 14th in the junior varsity race in 16:19.
"The guys and girls have put together two fine meets in a row," Storm Lake coach John Brostad said. "They should be building confidence as they go into the Denison meet (today). They have been working hard in practice and it's starting to show."
