Sioux Central stays unbeaten, 50-32

Sunday, September 24, 2000

"Offensively, I thought we were very productive," Sioux Central coach Jeff Tiefenthaler said. "We scored a lot of points, but we were a little disappointed with our defense in the first half and having 115 yards in penalties hurt us."

The Rebels got a 2-yard run from Jeff Madsen and a 24-yard TD pass from Cody Tibbetts to Jason Brown in the first quarter.

Sioux Central scored three times in the second quarter to grab a 38-22 halftime lead. Tyler Lindquist scored on a 4-yard run, Madsen caught an 11-yard pass from Tibbetts and Lindquist hauled in a 37-yard pass from Tibbetts.

Sioux Central scored a touchdown in each of the last two quarters - on a 45-yard pass from Tibbetts to Brown and a 1-yard run by Tibbetts.

Sioux Central rushed for 157 yards in the game, including 88 by Lindquist.

Tibbetts completed 13 of 22 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns. Brown caught five passes for 90 yards.

Madsen led the Rebels on defense with 17 tackles. Chris Axdahl had 13 and Carlson 10.

Sioux Central, now 5-0, plays at Aurelia next Friday.
