Vista Chapter #617 of SCORE named its new officers, effective Oct. 1. James Bride was re-elected to his second term as president and Joan Ballantyne of Cherokee will be serving her first term as vice president.
Darel Burns of Storm Lake has been re-elected secretary-treasurer. Ballantyne and Lois Lytle, Storm Lake realtor, are newer women members of SCORE, along with Elaine Page.
Bride is a former Pocahontas county banker. Ballantyne, in real estate for 50 years, is newly elected president of the Cherokee Kiwanis Club, serves on the boards of Western Iowa Tech Foundation, LeMars Mutual Insurance, Sioux Valley Hospital, Cherokee Rodeo (33 years), a member of Cherokee Chamber of Commerce since 1967 and sings in the Trinity Lutheran Church choir.
The SCORE chapter in Storm Lake serves Buena Vista, Cherokee, Pocahontas and Sac counties in counseling with small business persons and those who wish to go into their own business.
