Alicia Renee Heiland and Landon Reed Roth were united in marriage on July 15, 2000 at the First Christian Church in Panora. Pastor Ruben Chupp of Wayland officiated the 5 p.m. double ring candlelight ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Dennis and Juanita Heiland of Panora and Randy and Lorrie Roth of Wayland. Grandparents of the couple are Bill and Elda Slater of Guthrie Center, Juanita M. Heiland of Panora and Johenry and Lucille Mast and Inez Roth, all of Wayland.
Peace lilies were placed on the steps to the altar in loving memory of Alicia and Landon's grandfathers, Jerry Heiland and Glen Roth.
Seating the guests were ushers Adam Jones of Jefferson, Tim Bryte of Pomeroy, Nolan Stribe of Carroll and Nick Winters of Iowa Falls, all friends of the couple. Junior ushers were J.C. Watts of Panora, cousin of the bride and Keegan Walters of Tiffin, cousin of the groom.
Mike and Kate Wilson, sister and brother-in-law of the groom were the honored family. Amy Eittreim of Jewell and Emily Tjernagel of Roland, both friends of the couple, were in charge of programs.
The bride's personal attendants were Kim Heiland of Panora, aunt of the bride and Tammy Bruch, friend of the couple from Manning.
Lori Graber of Wayland was the pianist, violinist was Denise Freyenberger of Wayland and vocalists were Randy Roth, who sang, "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You," and Jennifer Meester, who sang, "For You I Will."
Kylee Heiland of Panora served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Schable of Galva, cousin of the bride, Jennifer Meester of Omaha, Neb., Danielle Geitzenauer of Ames, and Jamie Brower of Newell, all friends of the couple. Junior bridesmaid was Mallory Heiland of Panora, sister of the bride and Megan Atkins of Pella, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
Darin Graber of Crawfordsville, friend of the couple, served as best man. Groomsmen were Tyler Brooks of Panora and Brett Smith of Guthrie Center, friends of the couple, Chris Adrian of Cedar Falls and Kyle Roth of Kansas City, Mo., cousins of the groom. Junior groomsman was Devon Mast Carr of Torrence, Calif. and honorary ringbearer was Brock Wilson of Wayland, nephew of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lake Panorama National Conference Center with 400 guests in attendance. Brian and Metinka Slater of West Des Moines, uncle and aunt of the bride, were host and hostess at the reception. A special video, "Alicia and Landon Through the Years," was enjoyed by all.
Special assistants throughout the day were Chaille Reynolds, Cole Reynolds and Jodi Watts of Panora and Brandelle Slater of Guthrie Center, cousins of the bride and Melissa Gerken of Jefferson, friend of the couple.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Panorama High School and a 2000 graduate of Buena Vista University. She is attending graduate school at the University of Iowa to obtain her master's degree in Health Leisure and Sport Studies. She is also a graduate assistant at the University of Iowa Recreational Services Department.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Waco High School and a 2000 graduate of Buena Vista University. He is attending law school at the University of Iowa and he also plans to pursue his Master's in Business Administration.
