Michael and Christopher Duitsman enjoyed singing in the car on the way to their Dad's car races. What they didn't know was how much they'd enjoy singing on stage.
The two brothers age 8 1/2 and 11 1/2 will entertain those attending the Windfest celebration in Alta this weekend. They will perform at 12:45 and plan to sing only their best songs.
"We sing a lot as a family and we have a radio in every room of the house," the boy's mom Angela said. "They just love to listen to music."
Michael and Christopher got started singing by performing at Knight's Delight in Pomeroy.
"They sang one night and were asked to come back," Angela said. "We started taking them back their to sing on Monday nights."
They have since sang at weddings and had their first large-crowd debut this year at the Buena Vista County Fair's talent show.
"We really like to sing the country songs," Christopher said. "And Tonic Sol Fa."
The boys have been to many concerts that have helped them learn how to perform in front of the larger crowds.
"They've seen Neal McCoy three times and we took them to see Shannon Brown this summer," Angela said. "They're just basically getting started, but they do really enjoy it."
The boys have been practicing their songs and plan to sing "Love is a right place," "Shake" and "Cecelia" to name a few for those at Windfest this weekend.
Christopher, who has began taking vocal lessons, may even attempt to do a solo of a Tim McGraw song.
"The boys' goal is to get up there and to make no mistakes," Angela said. "It's funny to see how nervous they get and then how well they do once they get up there."
