Over 120 quilt items will be available in the third New Hope Village Benefit Quilt Auction, to be held on Sunday, Sept. 24, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the New Hope Activity building at 1211 E. 18th St. in Carroll.
Quilt viewing will be held Sat. Sept. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch is available on Sunday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Admission is $2.00 and is good for all quilt viewing and auction admission.
The quilts have been made and donated by individuals, families, church groups and clubs throughout Iowa. A beautiful array of designs is available including "Log Cabin - Field and Furrows," "Sunbonnet Girl," "Wedding Ring," a "Rainbow Star," "Flower Basket" and many others.
Special Christmas tree skirts, wall hanging and decorations will be featured. Many patterns have come from family heritage sewing down through the generations. Some are family projects quilted by mothers, daughters, aunts and cousins and yearned for by other family members.
Some quilts are made by family members of New Hope clients as their contribution for or in memory of their loved ones. Each quilt is a product of love and enthusiasm. There are hand-quilted donations as well as the "tied" quilts. Several sizes of quilts are available including king, queen, double and single, baby quilts, quillows, wall hangings and table runners.
Two door prize drawings will be held. The name of each person who purchases a quilt will be entered into the drawing for a beautiful oak quilt rack valued at $60. Each attendee's name is entered into the door prize drawing of quilt products, but you must be present to win.
