JAG ceremony approaching at SLHS

Tuesday, September 19, 2000

The Storm Lake High School Jobs for America's Graduates Program will hold their Installation and Initiation Ceremony for all new JAG students. The event will be tomorrow, Sept. 20, at 11:45 a.m. in the high school media center.

Forty-three JAG students from the junior and senior class will be initiated into the JAG Career Association and officers will be installed.

The special guests will be Dr. Bill Kruse, SLCSD Superintendent, Mr. Mike Hanna, SLHS Principal, members of the JAG Advisory Board and Eric Boulommavong, SLHS Student Body President. State Senator Mary Lou Freeman will be the guest speaker. Parents are invited to attend.

Storm Lake High School is one of 15 high schools in Iowa to participate in the JAG program. Iowa Jobs for America's Graduates offers classes on employability skills to a select group of high school juniors and seniors. These students also participate in the JAG Career Association, which elects officers, is student-run, and involves students in hands-on activities connecting the classroom with business.
