Two of the all-time favorites in front of the Grandstand stage will return for the 2003 edition of the Clay County Fair.
Martina McBride, the reigning Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music female vocalist of the year, will take the Grandstand stage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13. The legendary Kenny Rogers will perform on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Martina McBride continues to reach new career heights, as her recent "Greatest Hits" album has spawned two new hits, "Blessed" and "Concrete Angel."
Her vocal abilities have led to four platinum albums and a triple platinum album, which have featured hits such as "Wild Angels," "My Baby Loves Me," and "I Love You." Martina's song, "Independence Day," which addressed domestic violence, made the CMT's "100 Greatest Songs of Country Music" list.
Kenny Rogers has recorded more than 58 albums, which have sold more than 100 million records worldwide in the span of nearly three decades. He has produced such well-known hits as "Lucille," "Lady" and "Through The Years," and his most recent hits include "The Greatest" and "Buy Me A Rose." The Recording Industry Association of America awarded Kenny the prestigious Diamond Award.
Concert tickets for Kenny Rogers are $22 and $17. Tickets for Martina McBride are $27 and $22. The 2003 Clay County Fair runs from Saturday, Sept. 6 through Sunday, Sept. 14. Mailed ticket orders open June 26, phone orders July 14.
