The Retirement Housing Foundation has hired Bev Delp as the new manager for the Lakeview Manor Apartment Building. Also hired as service coordinator is Cheryl Gouldin, who is part of the Buena Vista County Public Health staff.
The retirement community is sponsored by The Retirement Housing Foundation, a national non-profit organization. The mission of RHF is to provide a range of housing options and services for the elderly, low-income families and persons with disabilities.
This is in accordance to their needs, in an environment, reinforcing the quality of life as it relates to their physical, mental and spiritual well-being. RHF is committed to service its tenants and the community of Storm Lake, Delp said.
Delp, who is from Storm Lake, has been the secretary at Commercial Sign and Design before starting at Lakeview Manor.
The new manager and service coordinator will work closely together to help ensure a high quality of life for tenants at the Lakeview Manor apartments for as long a period of time as possible. The manager ensures that the federal HUD standards are maintained as well as the overseeing the maintenance of the building.
The service coordinator works with the tenants on a case management basis for provision of the social service support assistance. These services may include networking with providers of meal service, transportation, adult day care, counseling support, housekeeping, personal care, personal grooming, banking services, and financial management assistance.
Lakeview Manor is located at 904 East Milwaukee Ave. It is a three-story, 25-unit apartment community. Apartments feature a complete kitchen and bathroom. On-site facilities include a laundry room and community room. A variety of activities are held throughout the year, including parties, potluck suppers, penny bingo and craft classes.
