Letters to the Pilot
Appreciates banks' gesture for the lake
TO THE EDITOR:
I'd like to express my appreciation to two local bankers, George Schaller and Tim Brown, for their generous contributions to the Lake Preservation Association.
I was born and raised in Storm Lake, then spent 15 years in metro Denver, so I can appreciate the value of small town business. With people like this, hopefully our beautiful lake will be here for many future generations to enjoy.
TO THE EDITOR:
June is Iowa Caregivers Month, designated to recognize the vital part that direct care workers play in the healthcare industry. This month of recognition is sponsored annually by the Iowa Caregivers Association as a statewide campaign to raise awareness of and to recognize direct care workers who provide daily, hands-on care and provide the assistance needed for individuals to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible.
The board of directors and management of Genesis Development would like to take this opportunity to recognize the staff of Genesis at all our locations - Jefferson, Boone, Storm Lake, Winterset, Belle Plaine and Vinton - for the many, many hours of caring, dedicated assistance that is given to each of the individuals served by Genesis. The professionalism exhibited by the staff as they provide opportunities and assistance in residential settings, vocational work centers, community employment settings, rehabilitation endeavors, educational activities, social events, community outings, life skills training and day-to-day living is inspiring and greatly appreciated. The lives of over 600 people are affected by the quality care that is given by more than 170 employees of Genesis.
Thank you to the entire Genesis staff for your dedication, patience and teamwork as we continue to provide quality services and opportunities for people with disabilities across the state of Iowa.
