Aurelia wins meet, but N-F claims title wins meet, but N-F claims title

Kolin Peterson fired a 36 to capture runner-up medalist honors in help Aurelia win the fifth in a series of Northwest Conference boys golf tournaments played on Monday at Fonda Golf Course.

Aurelia finished with a team score of 153 strokes. Newell-Fonda and Sioux Central were second with a 156, followed by Pomeroy-Palmer at 162, Sac City 167, Alta 170, Albert City-Truesdale 178, Schaller-Crestland 181 and Storm Lake St. Mary's 190.

In the final standings, Newell-Fonda won Northwest Conference title with 41 points. Aurelia was second with 40, followed by Sioux Central with 36, Sac City 25, Alta 24.5, Pomeroy-Palmer 21, Schaller-Crestland 18, AC-T 10.5 and St. Mary's 6.

Adam Godfrey followed Petersen for Aurelia with a 38. Keith Kistenmacher shot a 39 and Ryan Guthridge a 40.

Newell-Fonda received a 39 from five golfers - Austin Wells, Jared Neppl, Tim Seagren, Matt Stauter and Kyle Doonan. Aaron Hagen shot a 40.

Sioux Central's Drew Barglof was the meet medalist with a 36. Travis Vaudt carded a 38, Mark Clapp a 40 and Mike Genson shot a 42.

Jeff Demers had the low score for Alta with a 38. Dru Leyden golfed a 43, while Jon Wienhold shot a 44 and Brad Bunjes and Joey Post each carded a 45.

Schaller-Crestland received a 41 from Jacob Myrtue. Jay Voss carded a 44, Kyle Barlow a 47, and Dan Determan and Tyler Wendel each had a 49.

Kirk Struss led AC-T with a 42. Caleb Garberding finished with a 43, Tim Hogrefe a 45 and Steven Sievers a 48.

Ryne Paterson and Andy Dahm each fired a 46 to lead St. Mary's. Nick Netsch golfed a 49 and Tyrel Drey had a 52.
