City Council approves requests to help 'Taste of Storm Lake'

Thursday, May 8, 2003

The Storm Lake City Council approved various requests to help the Thursday night "Taste of Storm Lake" run smoothly in downtown Storm Lake.

The council agreed to provide barricades for events at the corner of Lake Avenue and West 5th Street and allow food to be served on the sidewalk.

The Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Taste of Storm Lake every Thursday evening in June, July, August and September with different non-profit organizations and other businesses serving food each week.

Scheduled to participate this year are the HyNoon Kiwanis, County 4-H Clubs, Bil-Mar and Community Ed, TLC after-school program, Star Spangled Spectacular committee, Farmers Market, Central Bank, BV Convention and Visitors Bureau, IBP, Witter Gallery, BV Historical Society, High School Music Beach Party, Concordia Preschool, SL Sparklers and Habitat for Humanity.

Also, the May 19 council meeting was selected for a public hearing on a budget amendment for the current fiscal year.
